When Matt Grace’s police dog almost died from heat stress in 2012, he realised that there was nothing on the market that could effectively prevent the risk of heat stroke in dogs while they were on the job. He set out to create an innovative K9 cooling harness using his 20+ years of knowledge and experience as a dog breeder, trainer, handler, and K9 tactical policeman.

INSIGHT

With a sleek, high-tech harness in hand, Matt approached LCC Group to build a name and brand around the product. After a comprehensive research and naming process, ShepherdTM was born, with a vision to be the leader in innovative performance solutions that improve the wellbeing of dogs and their humans.

LCC Group delivered a visual identity with an outback-inspired colour palette representing the extremes of the Australian climate. We incorporated a contrasting mix of warm and cool tones, paired with active, bold imagery where the dog is the hero. In 2024, the ShepherdTM K9 Cooling Harness took out a Good Design Award.
